Traditionally these are prolific in winter time in Australia, why?   They flog these off around Christmas time as Christmas plant type decorations.  They don't do that well at that time of the year here because it is summer in Australia.  Right now they are flowering everywhere beautifully as they do around Christmas in the Northern Hemisphere where they originated.

In Nahuatl, the language of the Aztecs, the plant is called Cuitlaxochitl (from cuitlatl, residue, and xochitl, flower) meaning "flower that grows in residues or soil." The Aztecs used the plant to produce red dye and as an antipyretic medication.

Wonder if Quandongs would grow around here as they are a desert shrub or tree.  But I still would like to try to germinate one for my grandchildren.

The seeds can be turned into a moisturizer and I want to try this practice at home and so I need to get some quandongs to do this.
The seeds are amazing actually and so beautiful to touch and look at.  It takes a long long long time for these to fruit but I would love to grow one for my grandchildren and at least pass on the knowledge to these kids for the future!

I find it hard to say thank you silently and often just say thank you out loud to the universe around me.  Again today I was just captivated by the sheer beauty of the dawn.  My heart raced as I climbed up and down the hill four times this morning.

The western sky was still relatively dark when I set off and there were only five stars left in the sky evident to me where  I was standing.  Four stars in the south and one in the north from where I stood out the front of my house.

I knew today would be beautiful after watching all of Danny Wilten's Videos on Youtube before leaving home this morning in the dark.  I went with an expectant heart,  and as the sun rose today I spoke out to the universe my hearts desire to see my children re united with me.  I saw a spiritual fight going on and I saw that my core beliefs have been questioned over and over again to make me turn away from what I believe. Nothing and no one can change my mind on this.

I stood there reverent in from of the dawning sun camera in one hand and the other hand covering my heart.  I went home four times in excitement.  I seem to do this a lot.  I become so overwhelmed I run home.  Personally, I think I am funny, humorously speaking.  I am so like a child that I want to go and hide behind mummy skirt or something as that is what it feels like to me and I just don't know what to do or where to go for a minute!

Keep your heart expectant and stand with reverence and be silent and just listen.

What once were minuscule buds are now flowers in the same garden bed of life, perfumed and full of colour and and the magic of light..by Mary-Ellen Peters 2012.

 I named my daughters Sunshine and Star.... respectively for a reason. 

 Think about it for one second ( that's if you bother to read this) ... I am not fleet footed with no cause, rhyme or reason, The genetic coding is what plots this course of ours!

There are wings on the heels of my feet .. I am fleet footed, quick to act, and my eyes see beyond this place into the farthermost reaches of this universe / way beyond the stars..way beyond the needs of our human form! We are all children of light and light travels fast... Mercurial minds join the light-workers - united together to repel the darkness all around us now.. .. They want you to hate the SUN / don't do it!

But I also must add that this is a little out there and I would not blame people for thinking all sorts of things reading this. Keep an open mind is all that I would ask of anyone.."

This time is a really important time in which we are all living. The sun will send out vibrations like we in our lives have not seen before. Things are happening, and I feel these vibrations.

 A few months back I really had a huge awakening with the plants and how they were responding to certain influences. When you slow right down and watch this stuff .. I have to say it is amazing. Daily new things have been opening up like a flower coming into a fullness of bloom and colour.
 

Not everyone can or is able to do this. Those that can must continue to gather up the ones who can't or haven't and lead them gently into the light.
We have been conned severely and we have been separated from the true source of what is necessary to fulfil our potential as beings of light slowed down by gravity and magnetism for such a time as this.
 

Humanity has walked this earth and perhaps other places in the universe as well for longer than my imagination cares to remember BUT my genetic coding remembers every bit of it and this is the important bit.
 

This is a blink in the eye of the Universe We cannot replicate these endless capacities held here. Not even with all of our technologies which are moving it seems at the speed of light to us. We are struggling to catch up to our full capacity. It is the ones bringing the light that will illuminate the darkness that will fall on the earth caused by the dark minds. The minds of that part of humanity who are racked with greed and selfish existence. This is the darkness we must illuminate.

Everyone is an expert these days.  Funny though when you have done the study and your not given much credence for this major effort of body and mind and others who have done but zilch are considered credible.  Please explain that little turn of events.
I know what I know and therefore choose not to take a lot of notice of fanciful things claiming to be new.  Nothing is new under the sun.  Its all been done and over done and there have been many dubs and overdubs of the past.  If it ain't broken then why try to fix it?  That has always made me smile that one.  Today is a day for seeing these things.  Another fabulous Friday already.
Yesterday I decided to propagate Crotons and Cordylines and Variegated walking sticks.  Now to follow through with that marvelous idea.
Go to the markets with some of my images.  That is an idea, but one that isn't jumping out at me yet! I have so many things to think about now.

This is a double rainbow, and when Brice saw it he said to me., "There look what he has given you".  Wonder who the "HE" is he was speaking of.  I know who he meant!  He meant look what the creator of the universe has given you to cheer you up.  I love that Brice understands the connection to creation now, this does make me very happy indeed.  I have lots to be unhappy about, but when Brice says this then I trust that God is close and so are the angels.

My own children had a partially difficult time as I negotiated life with their father.  But, my children were never subject to the abuse that my mother and myself endured.  Sick horrible abuse.  Abuse from people who others respected in the community.  Back in those days no one knew or if they did well I guess they didn't care.
As a parent, I asked for help along the way.  I was always honest.  I spoke up when I wasn't coping,  there wasn't any help though. Not from any government departments or child workers.  None.  I even rang the department myself.  I told them the situation, they were not interested.  I hadn't hurt my kids so what is the problem.  The problem was I had no idea.  It is humorous to me now that I rang DocS   (recently renamed FACS)  It is funny to me because it is akin to ringing your own mother,  the government was my parent, I had been a ward of the state until 18.  Who else was I going to call.  Ghost busters.

On the Garden grows

This garden is amazing, it has given us both so much  pleasure as we watch new life happen.  Life that truly nourishes the body, mind and spirit emerges from the earth.

I tend to get emotional at times during this process.  Not because I am strange.  I feel the vibrations of the plants.  Sometimes they tell me they want to move or they want to be somewhere else to thrive. I feel them say hello to me in the morning and each day I purpose to go and say hello first thing.

This process of wanting to move or be moved imitates our human existence or does our human existence imitate this process of nature?... Either way they are connected and I feel blessed that I feel what I do.  A sky full of lighters up to the true nature of everything.

It does not matter what others think of this, the message is for me and I received it.

In the end this is all that is matters concerning this

2455 REPRESENT

 And so we are trying to rein things in here by transferring my other gardening posts from my poetry and writing blog Melonpopzdropz.. 

You already know that I have dedicated this page to blogging about my yard!  I spend so much time there that really it deserves a page all of its own!  Special place my backyard and my garden.

 I could be accused of being biased, however I don't care.  I think that we live on the most awesome piece of the Australian coastline!  The Mid North Coast of NSW.. The Pacific Ocean greets me each morning as I look out my back door and look at her!  She is a terrifying and powerful force.

So much to grow

 Sentimental Rox is going to begin blogging our other most favorite past time and that is the garden. 

 It is something I eat from and feel so close to like "they" the plants are all my friends. 

Tomato Plants

I am an avid believer in growing what you need and use on a regular basis.  For instance it would be madness for me grow something I don't eat or cook.  I try to stick firstly to the staples of onions, potatoes, beans, spinach, parsley, thyme, carrots and following that the list is endless and it is hard to stop.

          .....oOo.....

The garden is a major source of enjoyment and fulfillment to my partner and myself.  Each day there is something to do and tend.  I go and greet the garden each morning with so much joy.  I am more than sure they know that I am there everyday.  Everything has and is growing wonderfully.

The strawberries who I call Good charlotte berries are prolific.  I have now made purpose built strawberry planters from halves of coca cola plastic bottles and attached them to the fence with zip ties that are removable.  This way they are able to cascade down with their beautiful nutritious fruit ... they love it there!

The main focus of the day today is the compost heap.  We have decided to re position it  as it went where it was by default.  The rest of the vegetable garden has a new home so now the compost will as well.

Regeneration generation

Recycling and reusing has been a focus of mine for as long as my life has been long.  I had the misfortune or the fortune depending how you look at it of going the " The Great Depression"  of the 1930's without living in that actual era.  How? You may ask.  I was reared by people who did and every day of my early life I heard stories of this time and how hard things really were.  They were tough believe me!  It was a dark time for many.  Given that I was forced to listen to endless stories of this era, I feel well equipped to go into this next dark era I feel we are approaching at a rapid rate around the Earth.  This shows in my adept use of EVERYTHING.

Cow manure is my saviour

Cow manure is cheap fertiliser that build up the nutrients in soil.  I get cow manure from a local dairy farm.  I need to do this regularly as the soil here on the headland is just empty! Well I have been working hard over the past year to build it up and add much to it!  I have a compost now / new house and new garden. 

Good Charlotte's Strawberries

I use what ever I can to build up the soil. I even go so far as to bring a bucket of soil home from various places in so making like a soil soup!

Remember, that organic matter is depleted every day as it is broken down by the soil micro-organisms and their friends. So replenishing organic matter in the soil to continuously supply the hungry vegetable gardens with the nutrients they need is a never ending job.

This is why its is so sparse in the yard; we rent.  We are making better friends with the owner of the house and I think he doesn’t mind us adding the gardens that we have so far! After all how could anyone get into any strife for growing things!  Yes it would be immoral don’t you think.

BILBERGIA LISTENS

Can Plants hear? .. ..  Of course I think the answer is yes.  They are effected by sounds like we are!

The Secret Life of Plants by Peter Tompkins and Christopher Bird, published in 1973, has a similar message. The book’s cover blurb — “a fascinating account of the physical, emotional and spiritual relations between plants and man” — speaks for itself.

There is little research on this subject and what work that has been done remains controversial. That is not surprising. The concept that plants can hear, and even observe, doesn’t fit very well into the conventional mechanistic image of the world.
