It's okay to step away from someone long term, beat your own drum. Feel securer in your own skin.

Just so you as the reader knows, I was always a bird in some form or another.  From a very young age I had the nickname 'sparrow'.  It was given to me by Jack (Cussen) whom I called daddy. I apparently had the skinniest legs he had seen in years and I didn't eat very much, he said I ate crumbs.  Not much has changed.

Combining these facts and my love of everything to do with birds, then I should know birds don't keep their young around for the rest of their lives.   They just don't do that sort of thing.  The mother bird probably never sees her chicks again in her life.   She encourages the fledglings to fly off and have their own lives. She encourages independence and personal choice.

My over zealous examination of the situation where my grown up children are involved pegs it as very bird like to be at a distance and not involve oneself in the fray of their life choices.

Today is the 26th February and one of my daughters celebrates her 27th birthday today.  I wish her well in the coming year and I wish her happiness and fairness.

If we all could see the world through the eyes of a child we would see the magic in everything!

IMG 5552 Shelby
Shelby examining a strawberry closely.

There are so many things we mums do on the daily we put down as mundane. It is actually these ordinary things that our children find the wonder of things that make their lives so magical and special.

A trip to the park to climb on the jungle Jim immediately becomes something far more grander and magical as age old battles are fought.  Listen to noises children make as they make roads at your feet from the patterns in the floor coverings.  Its the purest magic there is.

I am quickly drawn to think of my children and the fun they would find in a simple situation.  An overturned chair, a curtain blown up, a door half closed.  Their animal friends become their compatriots in mystical battles against the long grasses and imaginary dragons.

Raising children is an uncertain thing; success is reached only after a life of battle and worry.

I decided not to post a picture of my children, instead opting for this gorgeous boy I met at the Franklins Fundraiser at the Five Mile Hotel.

Its my eldest child's birthday today.  He is 28 years old and its so hard to believe I have not spoken to him for 7 years.  I wonder if he misses me.  I know I miss him.

Happy 28th Birthday Jesse - I hope all your dreams come true. xxx

“Waiting is painful. Forgetting is painful. But not knowing which to do is the worst kind of suffering.”

~ Paulo Coelho ~

I know this predicament.  Its torturous.  After years of not knowing what to do I decided to just let go. There is no debating the fact, they chose me as their mother and I don't have to justify illusions to make someone else feel alright about their fantasies.

They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself!

~ Andy Warhol ~

IMG 0301

There was no point staying in the valley where I grew all my children up. I changed this, Brice and I bought a house in the country and now I don't see the ghosts anymore because there is no history here to remind me.   A hard decision, but it was worth it because I have real peace here with Brice and the animals and Montana-Star and Anaan doing great with their lives just down the hill at the coast.

I have ticked a few off the old bucket list since coming up high where I could breathe.  I have seen snow and I have learned to use a coffee machine while at Kraft group at the Cafe and Ducks... I have never had ducks before, chickens yes and now we have three ducks.   I have also had so many roses to pick because now I have so many rose bushes!  I felt so absolutely blessed by this.  My grapevine is in the ground and loving it.  Brice and I go bush walking to see the rocks. Everywhere not far from home there are magnificent rocks to see and we both love rocks, so it works.

IMG 5600 Snow in Deepwater NSW
We moved to the Tablelands and I finally saw snow!
Tread lightly always, hush now.  I tried the hardest I could with what I had.  I did my very best everyday.  I loved my children with all of my heart and soul even when life was awkward and difficult, probably more so then.  It never once changed how I felt about them.

My life is no longer like this, awkward and difficult.  We always have enough and I don't have to live in fear of what drama is around the corner because Brice is as stable as an Earthquake proof house, I never feel insecure with him.

I have seen some amazing places and met some sensational people since I moved on.  Life is very different and finally I am in a place where peace can bring about healing the parts of my soul that others damaged when I had no choice.   Part of my soul is missing and its difficult to accept it can't be mended by anything I can do.

Was it me or was their father?  It was both of us together.  We never seemed to be on the same page looking forward.  But we loved our children - pity that a couple of them can't come to terms with this.

Too much love never spoils children. Children become spoiled when we substitute presents for presence!

~ Dr Anthony P Witham ~

Montana kissing mummy 2
Montana - her soul restored my faith ... in love and so many other things.
I love that she did this and she hasn't faltered.  Just wish I was worthy.

I used to love to kiss my babies ... I remember the sad day when it happened that I could no longer kiss Montana's older sister Matilda.  She, like all of my children used to love kisses. But, one day her father said in front of her, "She will hate you kissing her that much."

It was as though she fully understood what he was saying.  It was almost instantaneous, she never kissed me again. She was two and a half years old.  She understood this saddened me and made her father happy so she learned to play games early.

I never recovered from the grief of this moment and it still lingers today like the smell of a dead animal, strong and painful to bare.  I forgave her father for this a long time ago because I hope he did not mean for this travesty to occur.  If he did - he is evil and the damage can never be fixed.

“You must give everything to make your life as beautiful as the dreams that dance in your imagination.”

~ Roman Payne ~

IMG 3784
The Common Bluebottle (Graphium sarpedon)
or Blue Triangle in Australia
Every day it is on my agenda to make mine and Bricee's life beautiful and this plays out in a number of interesting ways.

Together we have made a beautiful home for us.  No one can hurt me here.  No one can take this away from me now.  We are safe.  It is difficult to see beauty when you are scared.  I was always full of fear and anxiety because of abject insecurities brought on by past experiences and seeing ghosts.  All of this while watching others take their security for granted.  This always made feeling safe a challenge and imperative to chase.

I pinch myself daily to make sure I am not dreaming.  It is so nice to dance out your dreams into reality.  If only I was able to dance with my son one more time.  If I don't ever get to do this at least I have my memories to remind me of the wondrous past when my children still loved me for me.   Before the world stole them prematurely from me.

"You need power only when you want to do something harmful, Otherwise Love is enough to get everything done."

~ Charlie Chaplin ~

SAM 7699 City and Colour
Dallas Green has an attitude of Love like Charlie speaks of.  Good guy and great band.

Everyday... in as many ways as possible I continually reaffirm to myself that nature will deal with the ugly situation of being made fun of by my own two older children because they have losers for friends who play games with people for fun and amusement.   What Karma they face - that is a novel thought at least.

I must have patience and I can because I understand Karmic consequence and soul contracts.  Around this entire situation is a huge Karmic consequence for all those involved. I often say I feel like JB was my father in another life...

I miss my kids like air - And to think I wanted children  and wanted to be a mother and all of those years being on IVF and trying everything and then gaining success and now this.. Kinda ironic - but for whom in the end hey?

This is very clear to me - there was situations set in motion a very long time ago and back then I knew that one day it would cause problems.  I just do not understand why I am the bad guy here because clearly I am not.

~ Vikrmn ~

I haven't given up fighting for the love of my older two kids Jesse and Matilda. I miss these guys terribly but I cannot let those feelings choke my life either.   So I live and I learn, and I suppose I am thankful for the wonderful years I did have with the guys in my life.  Some mothers are afforded far less time with their loved little ones before they are taken from them to heaven.  My kids are alive and doing well and I am ever grateful this this blessing.

Montana pictured) does not share the same ill feelings as the others do, none of us are really sure what the problem with them actually is.   It appears like they needed to born from a limp family to fit in with all the other limp families, and so they invented it all.  I was never "Limp".

There is nothing part time about LOVE. Love is Full time and usually its not on your time!

~ Mary-Ellen Peters ~

Sometimes I hear other mothers discussing mother hood and they refer to this as being a part time mother if they work.  I found this self analysis quite disturbing.   It may only be my opinion but I feel that being a mother is forever and definitely not part time in any demographic I can visualize.

When someone you love dies you don't get over the grief by forgetting, you get over it by remembering.

Author Unknown

IMG 2313 Butterfly
I won't forget this butterfly, landing next to me on
the flowers outside the hall when I felt very low at Cameby QLD.
I've lost my mother, my father and my sister.  I have said the big good bye to the people who reared me, Jack and Edith.  I have lost friends too many friends prematurely.    I lost someone so close to me only three years ago,  RIP Texsy.

I haven't lost children to death, but I have lost children.  This feels like a death would without a funeral.  It is in some ways a lot more painful and difficult because there is no ending to this type of grief which I feel inside and its there all of the time, it never ever leaves.

Even in life there is an escape - this is death.   When will there be an end to the grief I live with daily?  When will this die?  My broken heart changes the chemistry of my body, I know this.  I feel like I am being held hostage by the stupidity of my own children.

I am a hostage waiting for the bullet to be fired.  The one that comes from living sad for too long.

My older children have based an attack on lies and stories promulgated by Paul Rogers who was always a known trouble maker. This is a travesty that cannot be passed over lightly.  I can only magine the karma this will illicit to this creep who have actively perpetrated this from start to finish.

When I use my life in any way that makes another person's life better, is when I feel most alive.

~Liz Murphy~

IMG 0771
Looking out my backdoor highlights to me how blessed I am in reality.
My children are healthy and alive and they all have employment.  I am so proud of  my three children.  After a number of years of serious all consuming emotional pain, I am presently learning  to separate myself from the emptiness that rises up inside when my thoughts are focused on them.

I am getting better at getting a healthy distance from my own emotions now, or so it appears.  I am not sure if this is healthy, but I have to do this to survive long enough and to gain the ability to hope this changes before I die.  This will be the day I will be able to say. . .  I am now truly happy.

If a person feels little pain.. they in turn also feel little joy.   This is temperament, and it needs to be balanced.
