It is a pity that the asleep general public believe what is written in main stream news and not branch out to find out the truth of what is actually happening around them.  They would find that the media is responsible for everything now.  They are used very specifically and in this country there are two main players and that is Fairfax Media and Packer.

The Southern Cross - Ginibi
Gnibi is the Bundjalung word for 'black swan'. It is also the name the Bundjalung people gave to the star system, or constellation, that early European explorers called the Southern Cross.

The term Gnibi refers both to the black swan, in the ecological sense of it being nurtured and fed by the water-ways (now called the Northern Rivers region of NSW), and as food it provided to feed Bundjalung families; and also in reference to the spiritual association between Gnibi the constellation and Bundjalung Country and Peoples.

Ginibi is also the name of the Southern Cross University Aboriginal School.

It is cognitive dissonance that causes one to feel this sense of uneasiness with the world. It kick starts action as your ears prick up and your senses become alive as your body attempts to bring every part of yourself online for the exercise.   You know when this happens, that your world view is indeed about to blown apart and your are about to lose some previous ideologies held in the past.  When this happens it is time to let go, learn and move on.

Even collecting shells is a curious little task.  I have found amazing things at the beach while collecting shells for some healing beach crafts.  I often say to my  friends that I have never had a bored day in my life.  I have ways of amusing myself in so many ways and I think there are not enough hours in a day to complete what my mind peruses to do.  I do get most of my ideas into action but its good to have a working list.

"When someone is going though a storm, your silent presence is more powerful than a million empty words".

~ Thema Davis  ~

IMG 8572 Walking in February

This is a hard one for a person like myself who talks incessantly at times.  Silence can be a terrifying thing because it is symbolic of so much for me.  I see the world in symbolism.  There is a part of me where silence is symbolic of shame, this can be confusing.
"Be quiet and say nothing because you were been bad so you don't deserve to have opinions'.
"You are an orphan so your opinions do not matter"
"Children should be seen and not heard"
Silence and your presence is all that is required when someone you love is facing insurmountable  pain in their lives.  Answers are unseen at this point and the hand of love is all that is needed while a person finds their way through their pain.  Silence is powerful when used in conjunction with spirit, the God consciousness in us all responds to this without a prompt.

Day after day I get caught up in my emotions and I find my mind wanders to my children and to the times when things were happier, it's not easy to go there.  When I walk in the wee hours in the quiet I feel safer, although walking in the dark you are probably in more clear and present danger.  I think the reason I feel safe is because no one can see me, because its dark.  I have to walk it out though.

Habit is thus the enormous flywheel of society, its most precious conservative agent. It alone is what keeps us all within the bounds of ordinance, and saves the children of fortune from the envious uprisings of the poor.

When the working classes are under siege from their habits gone wrong they are in the throws of  addiction.  The wealthier classes have far more habits than the poor and some of those habits are soul destroying.

So many rich are soul destroyed. In turn they soul destroy others through their employment as CEO's and other high paying low working employ.  These people lord over many others and have influence over society and the destruction seems to be a rich personal pleasure.

We might decide to watch a game of footy for fun, the rich ruling classes have to go to the footy too be seen there whether they like football or not.   That will never happen to the poor.  The poor drink in dodgy pubs and the rich drink in swanky bars.  The rich hide and the poor can't.

"Nothing in the world will take the place of Persistence"

~ Calvin Coolidge ~
"Nothing in the world will take the place of Persistence.  Talent will not; there is nothing more common than unsuccessful men with talent.  Genius will not; Unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; The world is full of educated derelicts.
Persistence and determination alone, are omnipotent.  The Slogan  " Press on" has solved, and always will solve the problems of the human race"

Going up and coming down

Life can be similar to flying a plane and landing it safely.  You are up in the air high one minute and the next you are heading down and its not long before you are on the ground.  Describing the plane flight describes what life is like when it changes fast, high one minute and next minute your face is being ground into the dirt.

Strength comes from the ability to survive and to pick yourself up from the dirt and shake yourself off and peddle on regardless of whether you are hurt and the pain is caning, you must forge on.  This is where real strength is manifested, not the false sort from working out in a gymnasium.

Mt Wingen nicknamed "Burning Mountain" is at Scone NSW on the New England Highway

On the way back down the highway my friend and I stopped here at Burning Mountain,  being a burning coal seam we thought it was only fitting we stop and look given we had just come from protesting the building of another coal mine in a beautiful forest out west near Boggabri.
Burning Mountain, the common name for Mount Wingen, is a hill near Wingen, New South Wales, Australia, approximately 224 km north of Sydney just off the New England Highway. It takes its name from a smouldering coal seam running underground through the sandstone.

The underground fire is estimated to be at a depth of around 30 m (98 ft). The scientific estimate is that the fire has burned for approximately 6,000 years and is the oldest known coal fire.

European explorers and settlers to the area believed the smoke, coming from the ground, was volcanic in origin. It was not until 1829 that geologist C.P.N. Wilton identified it as a coal seam fire.

IMG 5318 At Mt Wingen, Burnning Mountain near Scone NSW
Scarred Tree

The fire is generally moving in a southerly direction at a rate of about 1 m (3 ft) per year. The combustion has caused soil discolouration and an uneven ground surface in the area.
This is the Dreaming story from the National Parks Information board located at the base of the walk up to the mountain.
“One day, the Gummaroi (or Kamilaroi) people to the north sent a raiding party to Broke to steal Wonnarua women for wives. The Wiradjuri to the west, who were friends of the Wonnarua, told them of the Gummaroi plans.

The Wonnarua gathered all of their warriors and sent them to do battle with the Gummaroi.

The wives of the Wonnarua warriors waited for their husbands to return. All came back, except one. The wife of that one started to worry. She went up high and sat on top of a rock cliff overlooking the valley to the south to wait for her husband. She waited and waited, but when he did not return she knew that he had died during the battle.

She cried until she could cry no more. She could not live without her husband, so she asked Baayami, the great sky god, to kill her.

Baayami could not kill her so he turned her to stone. As she was turning to stone she wept tears of fire which rolled down the hillside and set the mountain alight.”

Stand and Protect Love and Respect

Good counsel for men . .
The elders say the men should look at woman in a sacred way.  The men should never put woman down or shame them in any way.  When we have problems, we should seek their counsel.  We should share with them openly.
A woman has intuitive thought.  She has access to another system of knowledge that few men develop.  She can help us understand. We must treat her in a good way.

Iris and Jarmbi

It has been long said that men and woman are different creatures, hence the best selling book from the 1980's  Men are from Mars / Woman are from Venus by John Gray.  This author went to a lot of trouble to point out to each species these obvious abject differences that create some confusion.

The confusion that is reigning is because there is no initiation into manhood or womanhood and no storytelling like ancient cultures used to pass on the secrets of a happy life with either a man or with a woman, this knowledge was passed on by elders. The world has largely lost this connection to the planet and a healthy life trough storytelling.
It was a helpful book to read, especially learning how men do not see everything connected the way woman do. It was correct to say also that men put their issues into separate drawers or boxes etc and their issues seemingly don't impact on other issues they may have simultaneously.

Men don't like to talk as much as woman do and usually men find sitting around a kitchen table drinking tea quite boring, and rightly so.  We woman sort the world out around that table, but it is a very different way as to how men handle issues.

Men like to deal with it not talk about it.  Men want to save woman, all very natural feelings but somehow with modern life these instincts have gotten messy.  Gray sorts this nicely if you read his work. I enjoyed it.
