No one in the world was ever you before, with your particular gifts and abilities..

... and possibilities. It’s a shame to waste those by doing what someone else has done. - Joseph Campbell

What I like to say is this, "Why try and re-invent the wheel".  " It has already been invented.
All over the world this place here where we live is known to be a place of special significance and it is.  It is the land of the Dreaming.
WARRAADAY
The wood ducks known in the aboriginal language  as the "Warraaday".  The ones above are the musk ones and these ones above are then further called the  "Dirrindan"

The Warraaday are not stupid and they know to go there for breakfast and they will continue to go there while ever the food supply in that area lasts.  Then, and only then will they move onto another more favourable place to look for their breakfast

That is what people should do.  The should flee the scene when its not favourable any more for their health and well being.  Our health is what determines whether we live or die early in our lives or have serious  health issues.  Our health is also important to the rearing of our children.

We have to teach the stories of the land to our children so they understand why and how it is so special.  It is the only way to take back the sovereignty of the care taker role of looking after this special country where we live.

This country is unique and with it holds the balance of the earth.  This is the place of YULUDARLA .. the All father, the first being.. The hero Ancestor and he called himself Mindii in the North

Gabaa say he is the first man in Australia who showed how to do things. Perhaps Yuludarla brought himself into the world.  The same being is recognised by neighbouring tribes by different names.  Magindaya among the  Yaygirr, Wirruung among the Dhanggati and Baayami mong the Gamilaraay.

Yuladarla is associated with GURRUUJA - the wet lands at Half Way Creek, from where he went into the sea.

That deep emotional conviction of the presence of a superior reasoning power, which is revealed in the incomprehensible universe, forms my idea of God.

THE SUN
I am a sun - gazer now and so will some be casting me into the fiery depths of hell for this past time too?

I don't believe in organized religions so much. I do however believe in a higher power, but to me I have no one name for this I may say Gaia, God, Mother Earth,  the Universe, Buddha,  Lord.

I think that we are free to worship the way we personally choose to and as long as I don't impose my stuff  onto anyone else then I will be ok I suppose.

“We must question the story logic of having an all-knowing all-powerful god, who creates faulty humans, and then blames them for his own mistakes.” - Gene Roddenberry

There is no greatness where there is no simplicity, goodness and truth. Leo Tolstoy

Everything continues as normal all around the left over pylons..

Things were grand in the past
I feel a lot like these pylons.  Unable to be of any real purpose and left to just rot away with time.  I think this is why I try to make them feel special by photographing them all of the time.  They must be sad because so many enjoyed them and laughed and had a good time with them and now they are left discarded like trash like they meant  nothing.

Today Matilda turned 21 years old.  If only she knew the real truth behind why she is so small and why things were hard for her.  It is not for me to concern myself with any more as she is now considered an adult in all true senses of the word.  Happy Birthday Matilda, I wish you all the best for your birthday and for your life and I wish you most of all happiness.

I hope that she has a happy life but some how I don't think that she will stop there and I fear she will continue to be a spanner in the works of everything just because she can.

No one can make you feel anything you don't want to. (Jennifer K., 28)

This is a tough one.

I am guilty of saying on numerous occasions the exact words "you make me feel ... whatever".

However it is a well known fact that feeling is a choice and we really have to get a handle on our feelings and we are the only ones who can do that.  Circumstances set the stage and we are the players, and its all about our attitude to something that will change the way we feel about it.

What someone does doesn't make us feel, it makes us choose to feel apparently.

I said it was a tough one and one that I personally struggle with and have struggled with for a really long time.

The best feeling in the world is getting paid to do what you love to do. (Laozhang, 36)

When I get up in the dark to get ready to go and capture the dawn images I get super excited.   I know that are only around for a few fleeting minutes and sometimes its seconds in the early mornings and its gone!

Taking Photographs is something I have loved doing since I was seven years old!  I bought my first camera with money I had saved up from cashing soft drink bottles at the shop!  Do you have any idea how many bottles it took to collect to get any sort of refund in the vicinity of buying a camera?  I can tell you this;  I don't have a figure, but I collected for nearly an entire year.

These days I find there are few children willing to go that far to achieve what they need above their food and clothing requirements!  Why should they go to that trouble?  The governments have made laws now that allow the child to bully the parent into buying  for them just about anything they so choose or desire.  This is a sad thing and proof we are going backwards not forwards.

I know I would feel amazing being paid as a photographer because it is something I have always loved doing and proof why I have a 100 litre tub full of photographs!  I have taken quite a few in my time.

We don't have to do anything - we always have a choice. (Tim W., 38)

Choices
Recent Simplex GIG
The old lady and her collection of wisdom that I am always going on about has some stuff about choices as the next on the list.  The quote is above at the top
......Soft fire makes sweet malt
A proverbial expression meaning that reckless hurrying often spoils an undertaking or project.  Soft fire, They say, does make sweet Malt, Good Squire. (Samuel Butler, Hudibras, 1663)  Malt is burnt and its sweetness lost by too intense a fire. This expression, synonymous with the common phrase haste makes waste, is now rarely heard.
 Choose to watch the fire.
Just like the I' Ching everything has two sides. The positive and negative.  The dark and light.  The soft and the hard.  The strong and the weak.  The good and the bad!  Sometimes your choices you're faced with are so narrow though that the only one safe choice you have is to act or to do absolutely nothing!  In Australia we call that "Sitting Pat" like in a game of poker (cards).  In other words there isn't any other choice other than to sit and wait for something more favorable to turn up!  That is still a choice though.

Life is the same and the hardest part for me is to sit 'Pat'.  I am getting better at it.  I suppose other people may call this having patients.  I was most certainly behind the door when that was being handed out as well.  I am always keen to get stuck into something enthusiastically and I get impatient when I am held up by others from achieving the goal that is at hand!

There are two things that will get me angry and that is frustration and injustice.  Sometimes the frustration levels I experience as a direct result of an injustice purported against me are phenomenal.  When this happens, I must above all wait with patients to see to the end of the situation with out blowing it along the way!  I get a couple of chances here usually because I never seem to get it right first up.  That's not done on purpose, I somehow think its a blonde thing and my God understands,  some allowance is given for this to me.  I act thick sometimes,  because at certain times it all just goes over my head!   That is called "The Blondening".. (play on words from the Quickening.) So sometimes its not fun being blonde.  But really that is only one percent of the time  Blondes on the whole, are very lucky people.

Anyway choices are always there.  We may think we don't have a choice but we always do!  We can choose to stand fast and fight or turn and run as fast as we can.  We can take it or leave it.  The decision rests with ourselves and if we make a string of good choices then the outcome is totally favorable as apposed to making a bunch of bad choices!  Every action has a reaction so look for what that might be when making a choice!  Look down the track a little to see what could happen then make the choice.

I am even impatient with God, such heresy this is too.  But God knows me and I am pretty sure this isn't a surprise to him.  He created me with all the vibrancy of spirit he could summon up at the time.  I have had a thirst for knowledge since I could first talk so I am always told.  I  asked a lot of questions because I wanted a lot of answers.  I had the choice to shut up as a child, somehow it just never happened and I was in constant trouble for asking questions.  I stressed them I suppose,  like I stress others at times.  My enthusiasm is just too much for most people and they find this quite foreign and would prefer to say that is a mental health issue because I am not a rich person.  If I was a rich person I would then just be eccentric.  The difference in these two things or labels is the size of the person's bank balance.  Rich well off people are always eccentric and never labelled mad.  That is because no one really wants to offend these so called eccentrics because in all of their eccentricity they may just leave their fortune to someone and far be it to offend when money is on the line!  Most choose the latter as it isn't easy to be honest with yourself this way.

I woke up singing a song in my head today from One Direction... When are we going to get there, are we there yet? People are we there yet?  when are we gonna get there! etc etc etc.

Perception.. its all about perception....Do we perceive beauty? Do we stop to appreciate it? Do we recognize the talent in an unexpected context?

A true story so please read on below... ( this story came my way on facebook and I loved it)

Proof banks are crooked..
A man sat at a metro station in Washington DC and started to play the violin; it was a cold January morning. He played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes. During that time, since it was rush hour, it was calculated that 1,100 people went through the station, most of them on their way to work.

Three minutes went by, and a middle aged man noticed there was musician playing. He slowed his pace, and stopped for a few seconds, and then hurried up to meet his schedule.

A minute later, the violinist received his first dollar tip: a woman threw the money in the till and without stopping, and continued to walk.

A few minutes later, someone leaned against the wall to listen to him, but the man looked at his watch and started to walk again. Clearly he was late for work.

The one who paid the most attention was a 3 year old boy. His mother tagged him along, hurried, but the kid stopped to look at the violinist. Finally, the mother pushed hard, and the child continued to walk, turning his head all the time. This action was repeated by several other children. All the parents, without exception, forced them to move on.

In the 45 minutes the musician played, only 6 people stopped and stayed for a while. About 20 gave him money, but continued to walk their normal pace. He collected $32. When he finished playing and silence took over, no one noticed it. No one applauded, nor was there any recognition.

No one knew this, but the violinist was Joshua Bell, one of the most talented musicians in the world. He had just played one of the most intricate pieces ever written, on a violin worth $3.5 million dollars.

Two days before his playing in the subway, Joshua Bell sold out at a theater in Boston where the seats averaged $100.

This is a real story. Joshua Bell playing incognito in the metro station was organized by the Washington Post as part of a social experiment about perception, taste, and priorities of people. The outlines were: in a commonplace environment at an inappropriate hour: Do we perceive beauty? Do we stop to appreciate it? Do we recognize the talent in an unexpected context?

One of the possible conclusions from this experience could be:

If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world playing the best music ever written, how many other things are we missing?

I think when I take photographs of places, buildings, or people that I want to convey my perception of something and the way that I possibly see things in the world.  One must treat all mankind  in a respectful way.  So many times we are rushing so fast that we cannot see the forest for the trees and we  quite often put off the important for the urgent.  All of these things are regarding our priorities and what shapes them and our perception of something.

So many times in my life I have seen this and I have had it done to me.  In 1982 in Newcastle NSW,  I went to a car dealership with a pocket full of cash to buy a car but I wore no shoes.  No one came near me to help me or swarm me with offers I could not refuse. After and about 30 minutes of being on this large car dealership lot an older man limping came out to greet me.  I asked him could I test drive a particular car and I came back and paid cash for it.

The looks on the faces of all of the other salesmen who were then mulling around  then in the office while the paperwork was being organised was  priceless.

This is a lesson I personally have never forgot!  Because I wore no shoes I was treated like I didn't have 2 bob to bless my self with ( ie. like as if I was homeless) and I was treated accordingly.  They could not see that in my pocket was several thousand dollars.

Stop trying to impress people by being someone you're not because in the end, you'll lose yourself. (Anonymous)

This one is anonymous..  no person left a name for this piece of wisdom in the 90 year old lady's collection of wisdom.  Be yourself because you have a purpose.

If everything on this Earth in nature is made with good purpose in mind, what makes you think that you are junk?

You are made for a purpose as well so therefore you are so precious.

Be that precious person and don't pretend to be someone else to please other people!

Live and laugh and love like there is no tomorrow because tomorrow is promised to no man so live and be yourself today and achieve your purpose and the reason you were created for.

We regret more about the things we didn't do than the things we did do. Get out of yourself and just do it.

Too right! That is a very true statement and I am endeavoring to right this travesty myself.

The wisdom from the 90 year old lady.  at 90 you would know I think.

This is one of my photographs.  I love photography and journalism and I should have followed these passions in my life.  I love music and I have  a radio show to satisfy that journalistic stuff left inside of me and I take some great pics. So I think I am conquering regret .

Avoid pulling all-nighters. They're no fun and too much Red Bull is no good for you. (David S., 20)

Jack Daniels can on the steps of the OCEAN VIEW HOTEL after a big night

The 90 year old wise lady gives us number 4 from her wisdom list.  Pulling all nighter's etc.

Wisdom tells us we need to get some sleep.  When we are young though we think that we can get away with it.  Mostly we can.  However doing this on a regular basis is going to have detrimental effects on the body.
Girls cannot whinge there skin is dry or breaking out etc and blame all sorts of other things for it when the breakout could be related to the lack of sleep the body has been getting.  No time to replenish the body and remove the toxins. This process occurs for some things only while we sleep.  So if you get no sleep then how can this happen.

Red Bull type energy drinks consumed on a regular basis other than to have a can whilst driving long distance is nothing other than ludicrous.  It is poison in a can if drunk on a regular basis.

So get some shut eye and even just a couple of hours kip while everyone is raging out having a good time will hold you in a better health stead than if you don't.

Never be too proud to ask for help (especially for directions, ahem). (Ashley V., 23)

God gave us a tongue and we need to remember to use it!  A big ship is steered by a small rudder.

It is St Valentines Day today.  Today is the 14th of February once more.  Today from the wisdom of a 90 year old lady we hear that we should not be afraid to ask for direction or ask for help.

I think we should never be afraid to speak and ask for directions in all things in life and not just geographically speaking.  Direction is what we are all heading in.  We are heading in some direction.  Sometimes we know which direction we are going and sometimes we just have faith that the direction is ok.

All through the ancient writings there is talk of teamwork.  That isn't an accident in my opinion.  Someone realised a long long time ago that two are better than one.  Ask for counsel and ask for help when you need it.  There is nothing wrong with this as this is the way that true knowledge and wisdom is passed from generation to generation.

Never be afraid to speak your truth.  Even the person down the street from you, they too have a  story to tell.  Speak up when your spirit tells you inside that something is just not right, chances are you won't be alone and if its true then others will feel the same.

If you love someone, tell them that you love them.  Let them know they are loved!  We are given the gift of speech as humans.  We are doubly lucky there because we can say as well as show that we love.  So please tell the ones you love today that this is how you feel.

I love many things.  I love many people.  I love many songs.  I love Gaia.

I love me, because I am special to this universe as such simply on the grounds that God don't make no crap.  All of everything in creation has a purpose and therefore with this in mind I too have a purpose and it is real and tangible.  It is God given and it has been waiting to happen since the dawn of creation.   I was born for such a day as this.  I love that scripture / Esther 4:14..  such a time.

This is the time for when it was that I shall make my entrance to this stage of life in this small increment of Universe as we humanly know it but spiritually we know its  so much greater.   I love to greet the sunshine each dawn. Proof that this place we reside is a phenomenal piece of work.

A smile is one of the few contagious things that you should spread. So spread it to everyone! ...Marcie W.

Written by a 90 year old
This is something we should all read at least once a week
Written by Regina Brett, 90 years old, of the Plain Dealer, Cleveland , Ohio
Smiles are contagious.

This girls smile is one of these.  I feel so happy when I see her face each time.  The science of smiling is beautiful really.

Lots of smiling can actually make you healthier. Smiling can help reduce the level of stress-enhancing hormones like cortisol, adrenaline, and dopamine; increase the level of mood-enhancing hormones like endorphin; and reduce overall blood pressure according to ( entrepreneur and health advocate )   Ron Gutman

People think they can tell by looking at what the overall face looks like, but in fact there is one muscle [that shows sincerity]. It’s a muscle, called the obicularis occuli, that encircles the eye socket. Most people don’t pay very close attention to and it’s very hard to deliberately adopt. So when people genuinely smile, in a true burst of positive emotion, not only to the corners of the mouth, controlled by the zygomaticus major, but this muscle around the eye also contracts. This causes the crows feet wrinkles that fan out from the outer corners of the eyes and its also responsible for folds in the upper eyelid. Most people can’t do that deliberately.” ~ Marianne LaFrance

Life isn't fair, but it is still good.

Written by Regina Brett, 90 years old, of the "Plain Dealer", Cleveland , Ohio
"To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me. It is the most requested column I've ever written.
Hibiscus all wet at Urunga
Life doesn't seem fair at times, because we cannot possibly see to the end of it while it is happening.   We have to then trust in the universe at times like this.  If you look back on situations in hindsight it is easy to see where this has come into play in your life.  Take the time to look at this and learn that trust is all you can have that things will eventually right themselves.

I have this on a daily basis in my own life.  In my hand I have choices.  What I do with those choices is up to me.  I have the choice to make the most of the day anyway whether everything in it is favorable or not.  Mostly its not because I miss my kids in my life.  I grieve for the lost time that has occurred because of the meddling of other fools.  Fools who have no idea.  Zero idea of the enormity of the emotional toll they have caused on the many lives involved in this dynamic.

To this day I still stand in front of the sun each morning when I can and ask for forgiveness and I say thank you that I am here to ask forgiveness  and to say out loud to the universe that I indeed love them very much and will continue to do so from the post I have to stand at.  It is like a military post!  I feel like I have been commissioned to withstand this battle to strengthen me once more.  One more time in the fiery furnace I go to be refined even more!  I will come out like pure gold in the end.  In God I trust.

Everyone is an expert these days.  Funny though when you have done the study and your not given much credence for this major effort of body and mind and others who have done but zilch are considered credible.  Please explain that little turn of events.
I know what I know and therefore choose not to take a lot of notice of fanciful things claiming to be new.  Nothing is new under the sun.  Its all been done and over done and there have been many dubs and overdubs of the past.  If it ain't broken then why try to fix it?  That has always made me smile that one.  Today is a day for seeing these things.  Another fabulous Friday already.
Yesterday I decided to propagate Crotons and Cordylines and Variegated walking sticks.  Now to follow through with that marvelous idea.

Today Montana and I decided to go to "Groovin the Moo" together. It is a festival down at Maitland, which is south of here about three hours.   I hope we are going together and I hope it will be a successful trip.  I photographed hope recently.  Interesting exercise as it was a way for me to see hope in action in a way.

Now we have something big to look forward to together.  While we are happy now we have something that we will talk about and plan.  First part of the plan is to get the tickets on the 14th February 2012 release date.  Today I will find out which company is selling them and see if Groovin the Moo is on Facebook.  That will help keep me updated etc.  I am so happy right now.  Thank you for making this happen.

Almost any difficulty will move in the face of honesty. When I am honest I never feel stupid.

And when I am honest I am automatically humble. -- Hugh Prather

Honesty Box system road side stall
I have just spent some time with some favorite girls.  Here we are being honest.  Honesty Boxes are a way of collecting funds for goods sold and trusting that people will in fact be honest.

My honesty in the past has been rejected and summed up as I am telling fanciful stories.  I have had a bit of a life to date. Done a lot of things I think others actually haven't and with those experiences comes a level of responsibility down the track to be honest about it.

Honesty is supposed to free one of the burden of secrecy.  It can be a burden at times.  To be honest with yourself and others is all one can do to keep a handle on the world.  White lies told to children ie the tooth faerie and Santa Clause are well intentioned forgivable lies.

Believing the incredulous things that I have managed to survive is not my responsibility to the said truth.  Some of it isn't altogether pretty, however it is honest.  Some of it was very pretty and an awful lot of fun, ie The Miss Australia Quest", that was funny!

I cannot help what others think.  Even what my children think is out of my control.  However what others think at times is quite laughable as they fill in the gaps with lies when they are not informed.  Somehow some of these join the dots lies are very destructive and so the people involved will face the Karma of the situation accordingly.

Not sure if they are entirely ready for that...  Regardless though it will be just a matter of time I guess now.

Suddenly, through birthing a daughter, a woman finds herself face to face not only with an infant, a little girl, a woman-to-be, but also with her own unresolved conflicts from the past and her hopes and dreams for the future....

As though experiencing an earthquake, mothers of daughters may find their lives shifted, their deep feelings unearthed, the balance struck in all relationships once again off kilter.

I love you

People usually say about me that I am an intensely passionate emotional and sentimental person.  I am!  Today because I am all of these things I am writing about this morning as Montana and I awoke to go greet the sunrise.  It was so good to have her by my side again.  Even if it is only a short time.  I love her so much and I miss her as much as I would miss my breath.

We set off bleary eyed at the sight of light in the sky and jumped into the car and headed for the beach near us to stand and gaze together in amazement and the dawning of the new day.  What a wonderful time for me to be able to explain to her the benefits of sun gazing and the myths surrounding the practice.

She was open as she knows that I have said sunscreen is bad and that the sun does get a bad rap.  What a lovely morning it was.

“He who is not everyday conquering some fear has not learned the secret of life.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson ...

Today the weather is trying to makes its mind up.   Ralph is one of my most favorite American essayist, lecturer, and poets, and Ralph is also a fellow Gemini and yes what he says I feel is quite true.

Each day a little dose of healthy adrenaline pumped through the system is good for you.  I love it.  We all do to a point.  We get it in different ways too.  Not everyone climbs really high mountains.  Just killing a cockroach is adrenaline enough for some.  But the result of the adrenaline burst  is what counts,  was it a success?

Today, for me anyway; I will try to face some kind of fear at radio.  It is one of the avenues that I use to get the adrenaline pumping in me.  Lots of times things go wrong and I have to try not to have a little bitch fit about it and try to maintain the equilibrium and that isn't always easy.   Anyway I love it.  Today I am going to try to do something that will get me right on the edge.. I am going to play 360 and try to get over the top of the swearing in the middle.  Hopefully I have enough to say to cover him.  I will have a shot at it though and just see how good we can be if we try.

Today is shaping up nice.

It helps to remember that there is a time for everything - and everybody. Our time to bear good fruit may be yet to come. In fact, we may do our best work, or find our unique place, later in life.

It is never too late to leave your mark on the world so to speak.  After all while there is breath there is hope and therefore one can expect to achieve until they breathe their last breath.

I have been given a gift of freedom and so I must not over look the windows of opportunity as they open before me.   I now feel that I am settled enough to look out those windows and see what is on the other side.  The gift of doing my show has kept me together through a sadness that for awhile I didn't think I could endure.

What doesn't kill makes you stronger is what is said often,  well I must be Miss Universe in the strength department.  The taking of amazing images and writing rhymes and constantly listening to music has been my saving grace.  It has allowed me to access that extremely creative part in me that I have always nurtured and carried around with me since I was little.   I like doing so many things.  Remember the Heart shaped fish pond we built.  That was so special.  I certainly hope we get to build another one soon somewhere.

"The difference between genius and stupidity is; genius has its limits."

Albert Einstein~

Genius or stupidity.  Yes I suppose I could be coined stupid for venturing out at dawn to photograph stuff.  I love this time of the day.  I personally think it is genius though. I do get to see things others don't ever see because they are never out of bed at that time and so they miss out on the first of the day!

So it is the first of a new month today.  The month of  February.  This is the month in which my second born was born .. near the end though on the 26th of February.  This year she will be 21 years  old.

I won't be going to her 21st .. I didn't get to go to her brothers either but I am sure my ex will have a whale of a time.  That is the sort of time that whales have isn't it?  The over consumption of masses of free dairy products does that to some people. I think he will have a heart attack if he keeps gaining at this pace.
I searched to get some facts as they vary greatly.  For me if you over do anything your putting yourself at great risk.  Everything in moderation.
William B. Grant, PhD, senior research scientist at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), wrote in his article "Milk and Other Dietary Influences on Coronary Heart Disease," published in 1998 in the Alternative Medicine Review:

"The statistical results of the present study confirm the finding…that the non-fat components of milk are important in the etiology [cause or origin] of heart disease for both males and females.
Given the strong statistical link between milk carbohydrates, non-fat milk and heart disease in this study…much more attention should be given to the study of the link between dietary bovine milk and heart disease."
