And so we are trying to rein things in here by transferring my other gardening posts from my poetry and writing blog Melonpopzdropz..
You already know that I have dedicated this page to blogging about my yard! I spend so much time there that really it deserves a page all of its own! Special place my backyard and my garden.
I could be accused of being biased, however I don't care. I think that we live on the most awesome piece of the Australian coastline! The Mid North Coast of NSW.. The Pacific Ocean greets me each morning as I look out my back door and look at her! She is a terrifying and powerful force.

I use many and varied techniques I picked up over the years. The best gardening tips came from Jack where I grew as a child. He had dug the entire back yard up to grow vegetables.
That is what they did, having lived through the great depression here in Australia in the early 1930's. I really think I inherited so much from those people! I love gardening so much and feel happiest digging in the dirt!!
This is the yard I grew up in until I was 12 years old. Those yellow trees were there when I was little ... Edith called them the ornamental trees.
This is Jack in my picture here, my God he was so special to me and to Kay. He was a man of true integrity. I know he wished nothing but the best for us.
He was blessed to know all of my children and when he died Jesse placed his Institute of sport soccer ball in with "Poppy"... Sad day it was when he passed. I sang Amazing Grace at his funeral and it was touching as there was not a dry eye.
Jack Cussen passed away at 95 years old. Amazing man. amazing farmer before he was a gardener. Many talked of his skill where the fruit of the district of Stanthorpe was concerned and he had Ribbons from all the major shows for showing the fruit.
