Where the rubber meets the road. |
Our initiation takes place over these three parts, the body, the heart and the mind. Purification of thought, of pride and of worldly values.
I have found there is great value in the simple life detached from things worldly. I am not fussed by the standards put forth where lies are replacing truth. I simply refuse to play. Sometimes this is more than just a walk in the park.
One example of this is my attitude to water. When it rains harvest the rain water into buckets. I get soaked to the skin doing this so I am saving for a tank. On the daily, I collect as much grey water from the house as I can humanly manage and I carry those buckets to the garden. It is heavy and its awkward, yes it is adversity on a tiny scale. The lesson here is that 'Water' is precious and it should not be wasted. We pay the Shire Council for water so there is a double barrell reason to use it wisely and not just let it flow down the drain to the land of forgetfulness.
Sit quietly somewhere when the day is done and examine in great retrospect on the day and its events. Both the joyful and the adverse. Do this for the year and at the time of death, examine the life and what it has unselfishly learned on the souls journey this time around.
Scripture discusses being a "Good Steward". It quotes,"Be a good steward over the little things and greater things will be added to you". I feel confident those words are the similar words of someone who may have passed on knowledge and wisdom - perhaps at one of the ancient schools of learning, Pythagoras, Aristotle, Hypatia, Plato. Any one of these would have urged the same thing for it is working with nature not subduing nature where our true power lies.
