Chemtrails is a hot issue a large percentage of people don't want to accept as a reality because it blows their world view.

 I like to re-tell this similar story along the lines of what Jesus did when he cast out the demons into the pigs and sent the pigs over the cliff to their demise, a story in the Gospels.  Some of those people who wanted the demons gone ran frantically after them and grabbed their pig because they didn't want to lose their pig.  They meaning to this is quite clearly when a solution is shown to them they would prefer to be victims and they love their problem.
