The 'Scar' is a metaphor for your past.   The past with all of its joys and its tumultuous messes leaves a mark upon our psyche.  It is these scar like marks that remind us where we came from and not to forget the lessons that we learned to get where we are today.

In ancient times they Scarred the body in ceremony for just the same reason,  to remember who you are and to act from this place of absolute power.  

As a humanity largely we have become weak and apathetic.  Everyone seeking to hide their scars.  Don't hide them.  Get them out on show because this was your amazing journey of learning and there is nothing to be ashamed of whence one keeps learning.
