"We live off the crumbs that fall off the White Australian tables and are told to be grateful."
"We ask for land rights with tongue in cheek knowing full well that the land belonged to us in the first instance"
Charlie Perkins
It is very beautiful that the photograph I took of Uncle Tom and Suzie at Uluru was in the newspaper this week during NAIDOC week. Naidoc is a celebration of Indigenous culture in Australia. I think we need to change a lot of things and I want to work with more indigenous to effect good change to never ever lose the dreaming totally. This is the most paramount .. there is nothing more important in this country.
When our government and politicians understand this the country will finally be on track. The housing they put ppl in at Uluru was outrageous and this country should be ashamed.
Going to Uluru was the most amazing place to visit and it will impact me what happened for the rest of my life and I am different because of this. Now I understand my white skin and my indigenous heart. I understand we are all brothers and sisters and we are all just here now. That is not going to change. I cannot understand why we are not holding up the black man of this country to the highest esteem. Why would any one sensible want to breed out such original and beautiful people from the planet escapes me and I get very very sad.
