Leisure is the Mother of Philosophy!
~ Thomas Hobbs ~
This wonderful woman once quoted "Art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable". That is a wonderful philosophy about our ability to create.

Everything has its wonders, even darkness and silence, and I learn, whatever state I may be in, therein to be content.
~ Helen Keller ~
Our world is a wonder and its easy to be content out in nature. This is my old home.

"There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn't true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true."
~ Soren Kierkegaard ~
Why did they leave the Ale to run and spoil all the meal? There was a good deal of gold in the house.
Frederick put the pretty yellow buttons in the ground. The rogues went and dug up the yellow buttons and left material possessions with Catherine for the buttons. Frederick was not happy. Catherine wanted to run after the rogues. They took butter and cheese for the journey.
Catherine took pity on the trees that were bruised from the rogues running away and greased the wheels with her butter. She caught up with Frederick but she had no butter or cheese only dry bread. She explained they were back on the road and ate the dry bread together.
Frederick asked did she lock the door before she left and she said no and so made off home to do the bolt. She also got nuts and vinegar and took the door off the hinges and brought it to Frederick. He told her to carry the door and fastened the nuts and vinegar to the door.
They didn't find the rogues and so they climbed into a tree to rest. No sooner had they done this when the rogues came along and made a fire under the very tree they were resting in.
Catherine grew tired of holding the door and nuts and vinegar. She wanted to throw down the nuts and let them go. So she let them roll through the boughs of the tree. The rogues thought it was hailing. Then Catherine poured all the vinegar out because she thought that was why it was so heavy. The rogues thought is was a heavy dew falling. Then Catherine wanted to rid herself of the door but Frederick feared they would be discovered. Catherine could no longer hold the door and she let go of it and the rogues cried out Murder and ran away.
Frederick and Catherine gathered up all of their gold and went home.

Some fascinating facts about our human brain... Read On
The Developing BrainRead complete article here.
Starting from within the womb, fetal brain development begins the amazing journey that leads to a well-developed brain at birth that continues to grow for 18 more years.
- Neurons. Neurons develop at the rate of 250,000 neurons per minute during early pregnancy.
- Size at birth. At birth, your brain was almost the same size as an adult brain and contained most of the brain cells for your whole life.
- Newborn’s growth. A newborn baby’s brain grows about three times its size in the first year.
- Stopped growing. Your brain stopped growing at age 18.
- Cerebral cortex. The cerebral cortex grows thicker as you learn to use it.
- Stimulation. A stimulating environment for a child can make the difference between a 25% greater ability to learn or 25% less in an environment with little stimulation.
- New neurons. Humans continue to make new neurons throughout life in response to mental activity.
- Read aloud. Reading aloud and talking often to a young child promotes brain development.
- Emotions. The capacity for such emotions as joy, happiness, fear, and shyness are already developed at birth. The specific type of nurturing a child receives shapes how these emotions are developed.
- First sense. The first sense to develop while in utero is the sense of touch. The lips and cheeks can experience touch at about 8 weeks and the rest of the body around 12 weeks.
- Bilingual brains. Children who learn two languages before the age of five alters the brain structure and adults have a much denser gray matter.
- Child abuse and the brain. Studies have shown that child abuse can inhibit development of the brain and can permanently affect brain development.

DON’T EXPECT ANYONE ELSE TO UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE GOING THROUGH..Your agony is only yours. No one else can feel it the way you do. Your traumas and sorrows all fit within you. No one will ever see the torment that’s going on inside you. Don’t anticipate that someone else has a handle on it, or that they will listen carefully to your issues. Even if someone hears you, that does not necessarily mean they are “listening” to you, or that they even care to hear. They just don’t want to say no to you. You need to determine it for yourself.
~ Neena Gupta ~
Gripped by the destructive pain of loss on the daily, I am all but destroyed before I begin. Each day is a struggle to wake and to not fall apart.
This has become the norm. I call it the mid morning rush. It is 3:35am and its dark and most are sleeping. I am awake recalling sweet memories of children so delightful and warm and then from left field comes the imaginary bulldozer to knock it all apart. Tears well in my eyes. I struggle to breathe. I get angry and sad all at once. I sit in the dark and drink coffee and smoke a cigarette by the fire and stare into the flames, thinking, twisting my hair for comfort and focus.
Torn in two inside. Torn between feelings of disappearing and finding a tree and feelings of emptiness left by the reams of injustice. I am completely lost how to deal with this emotionally. I keep trying each day. Every new dawn is another opportunity for hope. Hope is all I have. I get very scared a day will arrive and there is no more hope.
