Imagination is what allows our physical body to escape the forces that hold us in one place.  Our imagination is therefore like medicine, it remedies monotony stemming from being here where we exist on the plane of the mundane.  

MUNDANE: [muhn-deyn, muhn-deyn] adjective

1.  of or pertaining to this world or earth as contrasted with heaven; worldly; earthly: mundane affairs.

2.  common; ordinary; banal; unimaginative.

3.  of or pertaining to the world, universe, or earth.
