Sentimental Rox: Good actions give strength to ourselves and inspire good actions in others.

This is solveig. I have known Sol since about 1994 when our kids were playing the round ball game. Solveig recently won a huge award for her photography of our river. I was very impressed with this award.

I was there with Atalanta the day she took that photograph. I was taking images also. I was not daunted by so much equipment and the flicking of dollar notes as I perused photographic equipment she had swinging about her. I sound almost jealous. Perhaps I am. Perhaps I ponder the fact that just a lesson or two for me could make all the difference. I would love to study photography.

I smiled ... it is the Never Never I thought not a war zone. I think this thought came from seeing so many photographers in war zones carrying that similar amount of equipment. Or, perhaps she thought she may see a football game on the way. I had one camera and it was viewed somewhat suspiciously by her. I did feel a little weird, but I was laughing on the inside. If you laugh on the outside, others think you are laughing at them. So I keep my smile on the inside and let the humor bubble just me.

Anyway, I am really proud of her and our rivers that won this award. I wonder if she will hand me some pointers on such brilliant photography - she was telling me how accomplished she was at this art. I said to her, " I am not, I am self taught". I should not feel any sense of shame of this fact. I take brilliant images, I know this. I can see because I have three eyes. Others have said this too. I am self taught and I should be proud of this.
