SMUDGING

Smudge sticksSmudge sticks (Photo credit: H Dragon)
SMUDGE STICKS are 100% Salvia Apiana and is used to clear negative energies in the Native American Indian tradition.  Recently Montana was introduced to this by the Gumbaynggirr elders at Hat Head.

WHY SMUDGE?

Smudge Sticks have long been used in Native American Indians ceremonies/rituals, for cleansing/ purification purposes and to clear and release negative energies. The ritual of smudging can be likened to "spiritual house cleaning.  In theory, the smoke attaches itself to negativity, as the smoke clears it takes the negative energy with it, releasing it where it will be regenerated into positive energy.
WHAT CAN YOU SMUDGE?

The Smudge Stick is best lit with a candle to ensure that it   is  fully alight and produces smoke. It can be used waving it in circles around the desired object. It is ideal that the Smudge Stick is extinguished in a small bowl of sand. It can be relit and used many times.

CRYSTALS

Along with smudging ceremonies crystals were used extensively to clear negative forces in or around the person.

Crystal vibrations absorb and refocus body energies. Crystal healing supposedly gives the body a chance to relax, aiding the immune system. Aboriginal healing processes used crystals for prevention and healing. Amethysts are considered helpful when dealing with the emotions of anger and fear, and are thought to aid with sleeplessness. Properties in rose quartz are said to be conducive for soothing and releasing negative feelings in emotional healing.

Declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying,

ANZAC DAY.

WAR: WHAT IT REALLY GOOD FOR ....
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
War" is a counterculture-era soul song written by Norman Whitfield and Barrett Strong for the Motown label in 1969. Whitfield first produced the song – an obvious anti-Vietnam War protest – with The Temptations as the original vocalists.

The 25th of this month April reminds me that my father "Billy" was a brave brave man.  He signed up to join the navy on his fathers advice.  He did what he felt was right at that time. It's not always easy because it causes divided loyalties inside oneself on a day like today.  It appears a day that glorifies war and I just don't want to ever be apart of that glorification.

COMING HOME

The dreams are for you... and you and you.

Back where I belong, yeah I never felt so strong
I feel like there’s nothing that I can’t try
And if your with me put your hands high
If you ever lost a light before
this ones for you
And you

A Fertility Goddess Still Unknowingly Worshiped.

Easter = Ishtar
Jesus hung on a tree and this picture above represents this to me today!
Ishtar was the ancient Sumero-Babylonian goddess of love and fertility. She is often described as the daughter of Anu, the god of the air. In most of the myths concerning her, she is described as an evil, heartless, women who destroyed her mates and lovers. Her greatest lover was the farm god Tammuz.

Staking the Claim

Phoenix
Empty nest, getting on in life a little? Your loved ones tell you and you know they do but these days its by Telephone, Skype, Facebook or Twitter. It may not be enough for some and since we come with an innate need to be needed and appreciated as we get on in life and animals as pets fullfill that need as they depend on us for all of their welfare and they just faithfully love us back unconditionally.
